Important Notice to all Members Membership renewals are individual members responsibility. The club does its best to send each member their yearly membership renewal in a timely manner, however sometimes members will get their renewals late. If this occurs the club is prepared to extend the renewal period by no more than 20 days. Otherwise each member must renew their club membership within 14 days from their expiry date. This is a Licensing Services requirement. If the membership is NOT renewed within 14 days of expiry, the club is then compelled to report that member to Licensing Services. If a member has a valid reason which is accepted by Licensing Services than the club will renew the membership otherwise your handgun licence will be CANCELLED. |

Range update. Its been a long time coming. As most of you have probably heard we have been in negotiations for some time with Motor Cycle Victoria about leasing some of their land for use as a fire arms range. I am pleased to announce that we have just signed a provisional lease with Motor Cycle Victoria. This will give us a home for the next 20 years. The provisional part of the lease is on the proviso that we get approval to use the land as a firearms range. We have now moved on to seeking town planning approval, once this has been granted we can start building some ranges and get approval from Licensing services. With a bit of luck and a lot of hard work we should be shooting on our own ranges in the not to distant future.
Notice of AGM. Annual General Meeting. Calibre Sports Inc. will hold its AGM at the Oakleigh Pistol Club rooms on Sunday the 12th of September starting at 3:00pm. Do you want to have a say in the development of the new range? Are you unhappy with the way the club is being run? Come and join the committee, all positions will be declared vacant at the AGM and we need your help to make the club a success. Included with this newsletter you will find nomination and proxy forms, we look forward to welcoming YOU onto the committee.
Attendances. A timely reminder that if you do not have at least 3 matches and 2 practices at this point in the year you are well behind for gaining your attendances for this calendar year. Remember you need 6 matches and 4 practices, if you have only 1 class of handgun and you need 4 more attendances per class of handgun that you have.
Club rules. On the “Competition” page of this site you will find a set of Club rules. Their purpose is to make you more aware of your responsibilities as a person in control of a handgun on the range. Please take the time to read them and if you do not understand any of the rules please ask a committee member next time you are at the range.
Holster Qualification Courses. The last date for the holster qualification course in 2010 is October 9th. The course will start at 10am and you will need a holster and magazine holders to suit the gun you will be using. The cost is $35 plus ammunition, this will include your match entry, which you should have time to shoot after the course. Email me to book your place.
Safety Courses. The date for the last Safety course in 2010 is September 12th The cost of the course is $50 and includes the ammo you will need to complete the course. It will start at 10am so don’t be late. If you need to do a safety course to get your handgun licence you must contact me to book a place and supply a non refundable deposit of $20.
